Job Title: Construction Director.
Location: Central London.
Salary: £80-100,000 per annum, negotiable dependent upon experience.

We are currently working alongside a leading global Engineering organisation, as they search for an experienced Construction Director to join their expanding team in Central London. Our customer has an enviable reputation within the Consultancy sector as a result of a portfolio of high profile projects, with their clients spanning sectors such as Highways and Rail, as well as national contractors and local authorities, with plans to add to this portfolio continuing at pace.
Within this exciting new position, you will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
*support the successful delivery of the preliminary design and statutory procedures during pre-construction project development phases. The post holder will lead and create the construction strategy, scenario, methodology and programme.
*the role will involve liaison between other internal departments, contractors and external agencies.
*there will be a requirement to provide informed technical input on constructability throughout the development of the design of a project.
*you will be required to advise on issues relating to the construction of the works and ensuring co-ordination and co-operation of other internal departments. This will also include (where required) liaison with contractors and external bodies for the purposes of design development and statutory procedures.
*a good level of health, safety and environmental experience will be required. This is to proactively input to key considerations (during design) and advising on realisation of mitigation.
*good communication skills are required in order to effectively liaise with the project team and client staff regarding construction activities.
*you will be required to have experience delivering capital construction projects. A background in civil engineering construction in a contracting environment is preferable.
We anticipate that the successful applicant for this position will have the following skills, knowledge and experience:
*demonstrable track record of delivering and overseeing complex utility / pipeline projects and working with major clients.
*the ability to review potential design proposals and assess the likely impact and risks associated with constructing the works.
*familiar with construction methodologies, processes and techniques associated with infrastructure engineering projects.
*knowledge of health, safety and environment aspects relating to the construction industry.
*excellent communication skills are required.
*ideally HND / HNC or above in Civil Engineering / Construction Management or equivalent.
