Job Description

Job Title:  Application Support Analyst.
Location:  Bridgend.
Salary:  £28-32,000 per annum,  plus excellent benefits package.
Start Date:  April / May 2019.

*Although this is not a 24-hour shift-based role,  you will be required to be part of a shift rota between the hours of 7am and 7pm.

We anticipate that the successful applicant for this exciting new Application Support Analyst role will be responsible for the following tasks and responsibilities:
*provide 2nd Line Support across a range of applications.
*run various agreed business processes and jobs,  providing proactive system monitoring,  as well as checking with the follow through of remedial actions.
*you will also be involved in impact assessment in response to requests for enhancement / change,  then respond to and act on customer issues / requests and recognition of client priorities.

To prove successful within this fantastic new opportunity,  we anticipate that the successful candidate will have the following skills,  knowledge and experience:
*the successful applicant for this opportunity must have strong problem solving and analytical skills.
*you should have proven application support skills with the ability to investigate problems and support junior team members when required.
*be proactive and must have excellent customer facing skills.
*it is essential that you are able to liaise professionally with clients and other parties,  as well as understand their issues.

From a technical standpoint you must have:
*good knowledge of SQL and the ability to pick up new applications quickly.
*ITIL experience is desirable,  but not essential.
*some experience in programming and scripting in applicable technologies which may include:
*shell scripting.
*Python / Jython or Java.
*an understanding of UNIX administration.
